Job Summary:

The Senior Financial Analyst understands the organization and the operations of the Company. This position assumes assigned responsibilities; interprets and applies company policies, procedures, and rules; classifies data according to prescribed accounting systems. The Senior Financial Analyst must have previous experience of Costpoint/Deltek and have experience executing these responsibilities accurately and timely.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Billing:

  • Responsible for the preparation of Costpoint billings for submissions to customers of various types of government contracts, accounts receivable collections and analysis, and financial reconciliations.

  • Effectively communicate with Project Managers to determine proper costs to invoice for the month.

  • Review contract briefs and extract financial and billing information per terms and conditions of the contract.

  • Establish project set up, within Deltek/Costpoint, of federal contracts in accordance with the contract brief and apply to appropriate Work Breakdown Structure, billing, and revenue formulas.

  • Prepare and submit invoices to third-party electronic billing portals, and other government sites.

  • Works closely with Director of Contracts on contract reconciliation and closeouts.

  • Work with the cash receipts team to reconcile variances that occur in the application of cash and clean-up of unallocated cash.

  • Prepare Estimate at Completion/Estimate to Complete analysis, reporting of inception to date costs, contract costs, billing, and progress payments, and revenue recognition in Costpoint.

  • Assist with preparation and submission of Incurred Cost Proposal model.

  • Manage and report to Senior leadership on weekly Account Receivable Aging reports, following up timely with customers on outstanding invoices.

  • Project Reporting and Analysis supporting Project Managers.

  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and correct quality control issues such as duplicate billing, data entry errors, set up/system errors, etc.

  • Assist with monthly and year-end closing.

  • Perform additional responsibilities, ad-hoc reporting, and analysis as requested or assigned.

Accounts Payable and Time & Expense Reimbursement:

  • Review, approve and process Expense Reimbursements in Deltek/Costpoint.

  • Maintain and Update as necessary Per Diem Rates in Deltek/Costpoint.

  • Provide support to project managers and other team members as needed.

  • Perform Balance Sheet Reconciliations related to Time & Expense Clearing Accounts.

  • Assist employees with Costpoint questions regarding system access, and expense reports.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the Government Contractor industry billing and travel reimbursements.

  • Knowledge of Cost Accounting Standards and Federal Acquisition Regulation rules and regulations.

  • Knowledge and facility with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

  • Must have a solid knowledge of standard contract terms and how they are applied in the billing process.

  • Knowledge with Microsoft Office including Excel, Costpoint Time and Expense, Costpoint accounting software, Costpoint Enterprise Reporting.
