Northrop Grumman’s Aeronautics Systems sector is currently hiring a Principal Project Management professional to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Rancho Bernardo, CA . Teleworking is not available as an option.

Essential Functions:

  • Oversee and support the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between program management, Technical Teams, and support functions.

  • Review status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports.

  • Ability to work with and support the control account manager (CAM).

  • Assess project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.

  • Develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with program management, IPT leads, and customers.

  • Maintain various metrics and develops associated dashboards for presentations.

  • Tool and metric development, and management of small projects within the larger program and business area.

  • Support of internal and customer meetings including meeting presentation collection, and content generation, action item tracking, and post-meeting follow-up.

  • Works with the Technical Data and Training (TD&T) Team to coordinate reviews and updates of TD&T material with technical writers, responsible engineers and customer stakeholders.

  • Develops review schedules and adjudication meetings to ensure all impacted TD&T content is accurately updated to reflect latest engineering updates.

  • Ensures TD&T reviews and deliveries support operational objectives and timelines

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and 6 years of experience in Project Management; or 4 years with Master's degree

  • Current, active DoD Secret clearance within 4 years of last investigation/adjudication

  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access

  • Ability to communicate with multiple levels of the organization having excellent presentation skills.

  • Experience using Microsoft (MS) Office products to include Word, PowerPoint, Project and Excel

  • Experience following work instructions and process documents to learn how to complete standardized tasks

  • EVMS knowledge

  • Knowledge of TD&T source documents including but not limited to, S-1000D International Specification for Technical Publications Using a Common Source Database, TO 00-5-3 AF Technical Order Life Cycle Management and TO 00-5-1 AF Technical Order System

  • Experience utilizing and updating Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs)

  • Experience developing Technical Manual Contract Requirement and Training System Contract Requirements documents

  • Analytical thinker

  • Self-driven and takes ownership of assigned tasks

  • Produces high quality products.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current Special Program Access

  • Master's Degree

  • Current, active DoD Top Secret clearance

  • CAM Certified

  • Aerospace and/or Defense Industry Experience

Salary Range: $88,700 - $133,100

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
