Job Description

Omni San Diego Hotel is seeking Seasonal Pool Bartender for the reopening of our new pool Outlet "Tortuga". This person is responsible for creating a fun, relaxing, and enjoyable environment for guests of the Omni San Diego. They have the enviable task of working outside in beautiful San Diego weather at the finest hotel in the city. When working as a Bartender, this person will proactively offer beverages to our guests. This position additionally looks after other areas of the guest experience at Tortuga and works with other Omni associates to ensure our facilities are well-supplied and maintained in tip-top shape at all times, to ensure friendly guest service at all times and maintain a clean and professional quality bar.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for setting up bar area.

  • Adhere to predefined drink service guidelines and responsible for beverage familiarization.

  • Implements beverage service.

  • Perform any other duties assigned by management.

  • Be knowledgeable about where to find supplies and understand rules for procuring beverages from banquet supply areas.

  • Report any need for housekeeping and/or repairs of and banquet equipment to Banquet Captain or appropriate personnel.

  • Must be familiar with all policies related to liquor liability laws – fully understand our obligation to safely serve our guests and utilize established guidelines for modifying/restricting alcohol consumption and/or notifying appropriate personnel of difficult situations.

  • Understand the proper procedures for closing the bar.

  • Maintain a neat and professional appearance.

  • Maintain an awareness of liquor costs and minimize waste, which may raise them.

Qualifications

  • Must have guest service experience, preferably in an upscale setting.

  • Food and Beverage experience preferred, but not required.

  • Hotel experience preferred.

  • Must have excellent communication skills.

  • Maintain a five diamond environment for our guest.

  • Must be able to attain a valid San Diego County Food Handler & Responsible Beverage Service certification upon hire if not already certified.

  • Must be comfortable working outside in various weather conditions.

  • Must be 21 or older (position requires the delivery of alcohol to guests).

  • Must be able to multi-task in a busy environment, follow through on guest requests, ensure guest satisfaction, and work as a team player.

  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs. and stand for extended periods of time.

    Pay: $17.55/hour The pay scale provided is a range that Omni Hotels & Resorts reasonably expects to pay. Actual compensation offered may fluctuate based on a candidate’s qualifications and/or experience
