General Summary

As an IT Program Manager, Staff focused on UX design and research, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the newly formed Customer Experience Enablement team. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, including designers, researchers, engineers, and stakeholders, to deliver innovative solutions that resonate with our users and empowers our designers and developers. Your ability to manage complex projects, think proactively, foster creativity, and prioritize user needs will be key to our success.

Responsibilities

  • Project Leadership : Lead end-to-end planning, execution, and delivery of UX design and research initiatives. Define project scope, objectives, and success criteria.

  • User-Centric Approach : Champion user empathy and advocate for customer needs throughout the project lifecycle. Collaborate closely with UX designers and researchers to ensure seamless user experiences.

  • Future-State Definition : Investigate and synthesize the human, landscape, and industry possibilities to help create future-state design hypotheses and move to more concrete plans.

  • Stakeholder Management : Work closely with business leaders, product managers, and development teams to align project goals with overall business objectives.

  • Resource Allocation : Allocate resources effectively, balancing project requirements, timelines, and team capacity.

  • Risk Mitigation : Identify and mitigate risks related to project timelines, scope, and quality.

  • Metrics and KPIs : Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to UX improvements. Measure the impact of design changes on user satisfaction and business outcomes.

  • Budget Oversight : Manage project budgets, ensuring efficient resource utilization.

  • Collaboration : Foster collaboration across departments, encouraging knowledge sharing and best practices.

  • Continuous Improvement : Drive process improvements and innovation within the UX design and research domain.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master’s preferred).

  • Proven Experience : Minimum of 7 years of experience in program or project management, specifically within UX design and research.

  • UX Knowledge : Familiarity with user-centered design principles, usability testing, and qualitative/quantitative research methodologies.

  • Technical Acumen : Understanding of software development processes and tools.

  • Leadership Skills : Ability to inspire and lead cross-functional teams.

  • Excellent Communication : Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Certifications : PMP, CSM, or other relevant certifications are a plus.

Pay range:

$155,000.00 - $232,000.00

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm. We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants (employees on sales-incentive plans are not eligible for our annual bonus).
