Our client is a leading healthcare company with an urgent need for a Financial Analyst in San Diego, CA! This position is fully remote, however, candidates must live within 1 hour commute of the office in San Diego for meetings, and to finish work in office if unable to do so from home. This is a contract assignment through the end of the year, and could extend. A Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting is required, and candidates must pass assessments of minimum 30 wpm typing, and 90% or better on Microsoft Excel assessment. A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience is required.

Responsibilities

  • This position will be remote, however, the employee must live within 1 hour of the office, and will be expected to come in to office for occassional meetings, and to complete work in office if something occurs at home not allowing them to continue work.

  • Perform accounting, reporting and financial analysis as assigned for the enterprise. This role is responsible for complex and multifunctional areas of accounting, maintaining proper accounting and financial control through reconciliations and analytical analysis related to assigned functional areas.

  • Prepares journal entries, account reconciliations, monthly management financial report packages, regulatory reporting.

  • Actively participate and ensure timely and accurate financial statement reporting for Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP), tax and other regulatory reporting.

  • Conduct independent accounting-based research and complex analytical projects.

  • Develop and maintain working relationships with operational departments and external vendors. May supervise accounting staff. Supports the budget process.

  • If assigned to work on federal contracts, this role may be required to undergo and pass a security background clearance per federal government regulations

  • Technical: Microsoft Dynamics 365, SharePoint. Must pass an assessment of 30wpm typing and above 90% on an Excel assesssment.
