Job Overview:

APTIM has an immediate opening for an experienced Construction Estimator with 5-10 years in Construction/Environmental industry, preferably Federal government (DoD, FEMA, DOE, etc) and other Governmental agencies (State and Local)

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Prepare and lead estimates from conceptual to detailed

  • Prepare estimates with limited information by leveraging experience or subject matter experts to fill technical gaps in information

  • Review and direct others on estimates in various business lines

  • Lead major estimate efforts, working with BD and proposal teams to produce estimates as needed for proposals including leading multiple disciplines, obtaining subcontractor and vendor quotes, performing constructability reviews and providing risk assessments

  • Develop billing rate schedules for various contract types

  • Work on estimating tool development including development of estimating databases, assemblies and models

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5-10 years in Construction/Environmental industry, preferably Federal government (DoD, FEMA, DOE, etc) and other Governmental agencies (State and Local)

  • 5-7 years in Estimating & Preconstruction, using systems like InEight, Timberline, RS Means

  • Detailed bottoms-up estimating experience

  • Experience with other types of estimates including ROM, parametric

  • Experience with Contracts, Subcontracts, Scheduling, Change Orders

  • Outstanding communication skills

  • Good presentation skills

  • Proficient with Excel

  • Ability to participate and contribute as part of senior leadership reviews

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing conflicting priorities

  • Ability to collaboratively work with numerous stakeholders in sometimes high pressure situations

  • Flexibility to lead estimates in numerous business areas including work where they are not a subject matter expert and have to work with other stakeholders to obtain detailed information required to build a complete detailed estimate
