Description

We are in the business of building data solutions that allow us, and our partner teams, to apply data in order to improve experiences for our players. This role will directly be responsible for contributing to our data ecosystem, and ensuring that we are building the right solutions for all our partners.

Key job responsibilities

At Amazon Games, we’re creating compelling games like New World, a sandbox MMO set on a supernatural continent, as well as several - as of yet - undisclosed titles. Amazon Games is also delivering great game benefits to Prime members each month via Prime Gaming, and providing game developers of all sizes with the tools they need to succeed with Amazon Game Tech.

As a Data Engineer in Amazon Games, you will design and develop data systems that turn petabytes of game data from usable to useful.

We partner closely with game analytics, data science, and anti-cheat to build data ecosystems that will scale to many games, and deliver meaningful impact to our players.

About the team

AGS Data & AI engineering team is a multi-discipline team, in which we own data solutions end-to-end: from telemetry and ingestion, to warehousing, analytics platforms, and ML infrastructure and deployment.

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

Irvine, CA, USA | San Diego, CA, USA | Seattle, WA, USA

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of data engineering experience

  • 3+ years of Games Industry (supporting title Development, Release, or Live Ops) experience

  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AWS technologies like Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissions

  • Experience with non-relational databases / data stores (object storage, document or key-value stores, graph databases, column-family databases)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $105,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $205,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
