Department Summary:

The Cyber Resiliency Department is part of MITRE Labs and falls under the Cyber Solutions Innovation Center. Our Focus is on Cyber Resiliency and Cross Domain Solutions (CDS).

Roles & Responsibilities:

The Cyber Solutions Innovation Center is seeking a Cybersecurity Principal to support Navy Case Managers for critical Foreign Military Sales Partners in the INDO-Pacific Area of Responsibility. This role serves as the focal point for cybersecurity and cyber resilience engineering, consultation, and leadership of policy application, risk management, resilient architecture development, cybersecurity and capability integration, and active cyber defense operations in support of the modernization of Partner command and control (C2) capabilities, tactical data link and terrestrial communications, and position, navigation, and timing services. In this role, the MITRE Cybersecurity Principal is expected to engage with government stakeholders at varied levels ranging from action officers, Case and Program Managers, combatant command senior leaders, foreign partner desk officers, and DoD / OSD policy makers.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable major and 10+ years related experience including 2 years of leadership experience, or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.

  • Possess and maintain a Secret level security clearance

  • Expertise in one or more of department capability areas (Resilient Architectures & Mission Assurance, Applied Resiliency Solutions, Active Defense & Resiliency Technologies, Threat-Informed Resiliency, or Strategic Resiliency Research)

  • Familiarity with Cross Domain Solution engineering and controlled interface engineering

  • Knowledge of cyber threats, attack vectors, methods, attacks, and countermeasures

  • Strong knowledge of security architecture development and systems integration for enterprise infrastructures and weapon system operational environments

  • Experience building and maintaining customer relationships as a trusted advisor

  • Experience with DoD Acquisition processes and system development lifecycle principles

  • This position requires a minimum of 50% hybrid on-site

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in applicable major

  • Ability to develop new ideas and techniques for advancing the practice of cyber resiliency

  • Work shaping skills to grow and adapt MITRE workforce support

  • Experience with Defensive Cybersecurity Operations and Active Cyber Defense

  • Knowledge of architectural and operational vulnerability analysis

  • Knowledge of NIST and International Standards for risk management methods

  • Experience with Security Incident Analysis and Response operational/employment concepts

  • Experience with model-based system engineering and digital engineering approaches
