Application Design System Analyst (Hybrid)

Tapestry Solutions, a part of Boeing Global Services BGS, is seeking a Application Design System Analyst in San Diego, CA . The successful candidate will be part of a multi-disciplined agile team, tasked with the sustainment of a complex enterprise software application, focused on supply chain and aviation maintenance in the military & defense industry. You will be directly responsible for the research, analysis, design and testing of new features, as you foster them through the software development lifecycle. You will interact closely with members of a cross-functional team, including designers, subject matter experts, software engineers, quality engineers and customers. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in the areas of analytical/systems thinking, technical writing, and communicating. Position Responsibilities:

  • Researches existing applications, system data, business processes and constraints to evaluate submitted requests against existing systems. Analyzes information gathered in order to correctly identify the problem/request, validate request or support the new development initiative. Conducts alternative analyses to define boundaries of the problem/request and estimate effort. Consults with customers in clarifying requirements by reviewing business process needs.

  • Translates functional requirements into written technical specifications ensuring compliance with current documentation standards and version controls. Leads reviews of technical specifications.

  • Provides primary customer and application support. Develops communication to augment relevant system activities. Develops ad hoc reports and queries.

  • Analyzes change requests, customer issues and relevant facts to determine estimates, risks and alternative solutions to business partners or process owners to gain approval and relative prioritization. Advises stakeholders and provides support throughout their decision making process.

  • Assists test group with the development of test plans and scripts to validate that system functionality meets functional requirements. Ensures test scripts meet required standards and expected criteria. Analyzes test results to determine whether additional system modifications are required.

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Software Requirements Analysis

  • 3+ years of Software Design and Software Testing

  • Familiarity with Agile (preferably Scaled Agile Framework, aka SAFe)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Technical Background, Business Analyst

  • Software Development work environment with Agile methodology

  • Scrum Master or related certifications

  • User interface design or UX expertise

  • Web and mobile applications design

  • UML, SQL, Visio and MS Office Suite of Products knowledge

  • Domain Driven Design (DDD)

  • Domain knowledge in any of the following business domains:

  • Maintenance Repair and Overall Management

  • Supply Chain Management

  • Inventory/Warehouse Management

  • Knowledge of U.S. DoD supply chain procedures, including:

  • Military Standard Requisitioning And Issue Procedures (MILSTRIP)

  • Military Standard Transaction Reporting and Accounting Procedure (MILSTRAP)

  • Defense Logistics Management Standards (DLMS)

Typical Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience, 9 years' related work experience, etc.).

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualification, as well as market and business considerations. Summary base pay range $115,765 - $117,000.
