Leidos Security Engineer in San Antonio, Texas

Description

Leidos has an opportunity for a Security Engineer at Lackland AFB, in San Antonio, TX supporting the Department of the Air Force CLOUDworks. For this position, candidates must already possess a TS/SCI security clearance in order to be considered.

Primary Responsibilities

The Security Engineer in this effort is responsible for providing technical direction for Air and Space Force Air Force Intelligence Community (IC) customers migrating to Commercial Cloud Services (C2S)/Commercial Cloud Enterprise (C2E). Play a key role in establishing system security designs and integrating all cloud solutions and strategies into the Risk Management Framework and overall business practices supporting Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions to customers at all classification levels. Clearly communicate with Air and Space Force C2S/C2E members and teams, delegated authorizing officials and other government security representatives. Adherence to all aspects of the Information Assurance (IA) program, Preparation of Assessment and Authorization (A&A) documents, procedures, and policies to ensure the organization is secure. A Hybrid work plan is in place and the mission dictates any changes to the schedule.

Additional duties include the following:

  • Prepare comprehensive written reports and presentations based on research, collection, and analysis of information assurance data and maintain databases

  • Assesses and mitigates system security threats and risks throughout the program life cycle Document and monitor information assurance programs and computer network systems for compliance of continuity, operations security, forensics, regulatory compliance, insider threat detection and mitigation, physical security analysis (including facilities analysis, and security management)

  • Supports secure systems operations and maintenance

  • Verifies security requirements; performs system certification and accreditation planning and testing and liaison activities.

  • Provides input and guidance of security designs in hardware, software, data, and procedures to accomplish network security

  • Develop technical solutions to complex to meet the organization security posture

Required Qualifications

  • Active DoD TS/SCI security clearance

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related engineering discipline (Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree).

  • 8+ years of related experience.

  • DoD 8570 IAT-II or above

  • Knowledge of various security concepts: enterprise cloud architecture, infrastructure security and compliance, data encryption, continuous monitoring, vulnerability assessment, security control validation, etc.

  • Supports secure systems operations and maintenance

  • Effectively communicate, conduct meetings, and brief executive leadership, key stakeholders and customers on security requirements and processes.

  • Ability to work a hybrid schedule.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (Master’s/PHD) in Computer Science

  • CISSP, CISM or GSLC; level III IAM or IASAE I-III

  • Commercial Cloud Services Provider certifications (AWS/Microsoft/Google/IBM/Oracle)

  • Experience in cloud environments for one or more of the following: AWS, Google, MS Azure, IBM, Oracle, IC ITE GovCloud, C2S or government and intel community cloud frameworks

  • Experience as an Information System Security Manager (ISSM) with the technical background in processing Risk Management Framework packages

Pay Range:

Pay Range $101,400.00 - $183,300.00
