Applied Research Associates, Inc. Security Engineer – Risk Management Framework (RMF), ACAS, ESS in San Antonio, Texas

Description

  • Security Engineer

  • As a Security Engineer you will be tasked with guiding systems or applications through the RMF process. You will be expected to understand NIST Special Publications and how they apply to the systems you are working on and how to implement requirements be it policy or informing system engineers as they build out a system or application.

  • What you’ll do as a Staff Security Engineer

  • Your daily tasks will be reviewing security system scans and reports. Utilizing these reports to identify and perform remediation activity within a system or application.

  • You will be supporting projects in multiple environments such as Amazon Web Services, Azure or on Premise’s.

  • Security Engineer Requirements

  • Eligibility to apply for and hold a US security clearance (selected applicants will undergo a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements at the time of employment).

  • BS or higher in computer science, IT, engineering, applied mathematics, or a closely related field with 2-4 years of relevant work experience.

  • Team player with excellent communication skills.

  • Relocation to Raleigh NC or San Antonio, TX; this position involves minimal travel for collaboration with customers and partners. Willing to work onsite 3 days a week.

  • Security Engineer Preferences

  • Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, etc.).

  • Experience with Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS).

  • Experience with the Risk Management Framework (RMF).

  • Experience with tools such as Xacta and eMASS.
