POSITION SUMMARY:

The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for the maintenance, janitorial, and grounds keeping to ensure a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment on Campus. Essential Job Functions include those listed below.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintenance:

  • Perform routine inspections of the facility and address maintenance needs.

  • Conduct repairs and troubleshoot issues related to plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, and other building systems.

  • Execute preventive maintenance tasks to ensure the longevity of equipment and systems.

  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.

  • Janitorial Services:

  • Clean and sanitize designated areas, including offices, restrooms, break rooms, and shared spaces.

  • Empty trash receptacles and ensure proper disposal of waste.

  • Maintain cleanliness following established standards and protocols.

  • Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies as needed.

  • Groundskeeping :

  • Maintain the exterior grounds, including lawns, walkways, and parking lots.

  • Perform landscaping duties such as mowing, trimming, and planting as needed.

  • Monitor and address issues related to irrigation systems.

  • Ensure that outdoor areas are aesthetically pleasing and well-maintained.

  • Safety and Compliance:

  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to create a secure environment for all occupants.

  • Identify potential hazards and take corrective actions.

  • Maintain compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

  • Record Keeping:

  • Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and cleaning schedules.

  • Provide regular updates on the status of ongoing projects and maintenance tasks.

  • Must Embrace and embody the mission, vision, guiding principles, clinical vision, and goals of WestCare Foundation and

  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the duties and responsibilities satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Experience and Competencies:

  • Proven experience in maintenance, janitorial services, and grounds keeping .

  • Basic plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, and general building maintenance knowledge.

  • Ability to operate maintenance equipment and tools.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.

  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift/move heavy objects.

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.

  • Knowledge of safety regulations and the ability to implement them effectively.

  • Adherence to the highest standard of ethical conduct, especially to standards governing confidentiality.

  • Professional appearance and demeanor.

  • Bilingual preferred.

  • Must be culturally/linguistically sensitive to the populations served.

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain and maintain WestCare’s vehicle insurance is required.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain background clearance.

  • During your tenure with WestCare there may be new requirements, including, but not limited to vaccinations that are issued by local, State, Federal, and/or Funders that WestCare may have to comply with. Should this occur Human Resources or appropriate personnel will inform you.

  • CPR Certification, First Aid Certification, and an annual Tuberculosis test.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • A High School diploma or its equivalent is required.

    WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Work is performed in a combination of an office and outdoor setting.
