Aerotek Controls Technician in San Antonio, Texas

Description:

As a Controls and Automation Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of attractions, and facilities by maintaining and troubleshooting control systems and automation processes. The individual will work closely with maintenance and operations teams to minimize downtime and optimize run time.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Perform preventative maintenance on control systems and automation equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

• Troubleshoot and repair control system components such as programmable logic controllers (PLCs), human-machine interfaces (HMIs), variable frequency drives (VFDs), and other automation devices.

• Collaborate with maintenance and operations to design, implement, and modify control systems and automation solutions to improve performance and stay current on technological advancements.

• Monitor and analyze equipment performance data to identify and address potential issues before they cause ride downtime.

• Assist in the installation, startup, and commissioning of new control systems on attractions.

• Document maintenance activities, including equipment repairs, parts usage, and preventive maintenance tasks.

• Hands on experience with troubleshooting tools and techniques, such as electrical test equipment, software diagnostics, and system analysis.

• Train and mentor other maintenance and operation personnel on control system operation and basic troubleshooting techniques.

• Install, repair, and maintain electrical components such as motors, sensors, limit switches, relays, and control systems for operation and safety.

BVA:

• Associates level degree or certification in automation engineering or controls electronics.

• Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) for tracking and scheduling maintenance tasks.

• Knowledge of OSHA and industry safety regulations related to amusement park operations.

• Previous experience operating heavy equipment, such as forklifts or scissor lifts, for maintenance tasks.
