Position

SAS has an opening for an Accounts Payable Clerk who takes prides in efficient and accurate processing of vendor invoices and employee travel expenses for payment via checks, ACH, and wires. This is an opportunity for an individual that is self-disciplined, organized, has attention to detail and the ability to deal with confidential material discretely.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform all aspects of the accounts payable function by 3 way matching, coding, and ensure proper entry into the financial system according to department policies and deadlines.

  • Maintain Accounts Payable filing system.

  • Manage Accounts Payable email inbox.

  • Identify errors or discrepancies and resolve before processing.

  • Act as primary contact with Buyers/Vendors.

  • Research and resolve any outstanding balances on accounts.

  • Investigates and resolves problems associated with processing of invoices and purchase orders.

  • Work effectively with team members by practicing punctuality, respect for deadlines, collaborative problem solving, and honest communication.

  • Assists with monthly status reports, and monthly closings.

  • Meet all required standards of confidentiality and safety.

  • Maintain work areas in a clean and orderly manner.

  • Performs other duties as required to support Accounting Department.

    Job Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail and a desire for 100% accuracy in work product.

  • Data entry skills and a familiarity of working with numbers.

  • Proficiency in working with spreadsheets containing large amounts of data.

  • Must display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers at all times.

  • Must have sense of urgency maturity, diplomacy and tact in addressing complex situations.

  • Highly analytical outside the box thinker.

  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.

    Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 25lbs

  • Must be able to sit or stand for 8 – 10 hours.

  • Manual dexterity and coordination

  • Required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as viewing a computer, visual inspection, and prepare and analyze projects.

  • Consistently be able to operate a computer.

    Education & Experience Requirements

  • College level courses in bookkeeping, business, or accounting preferred.

  • At least 3-5 years of work experience in accounts payable.

  • Experience with ERP or comparable systems are a plus.

  • Intermediate computer literacy of word and spreadsheet software and recordkeeping and bookkeeping principles.

  • Ability to operate office equipment including, but not limited to: computers, copiers, ten key adding machine, printers, etc.

  • Must have strong skills with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Access and Excel
