About the Position

The work will vary from day to day and may include, but not limited to: trouble shooting and repair of equipment; and assembling, reworking, installing, and servicing of electronic, electrical, and mechanical components and systems. This individual is required to determine cause of technical problems and propose and execute problem resolutions. Troubleshooting may include the use of prints or technical manuals as well as critical thinking and the input of other experts. This individual may be required to propose or execute equipment or process modifications to remain ISO compliant, propose and execute preventive and predictive maintenance activities, and execute approved system or equipment upgrades.

This is an onsite role located at the San Angelo Proving Grounds: 11570 N, N US Hwy 277, San Angelo, TX 76905

Primary Responsibilities

  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.

  • Disassemble and evaluate/test electronics and instrumentation to be serviced/repaired/tested/restored and re-assembled to pre-loss condition.

  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on electronic equipment, motors, conveyors, mechanical components, or electrical wiring and electrical components for electronic equipment.

  • Perform calibrations in compliance with applicable ISO-16949, ATF, ISO 17025, INMETRO, and other relevant standards.

  • Update appropriate database records, labels, and related documentation. Participate as necessary in both internal and external audits.

  • Comply with all Health, Safety, Environmental and other Company policies and procedures.

  • Follow all safety rules and practices.

  • May be involved in Safety committees or initiatives.

  • Perform other functions and duties as assigned.

  • Must exhibit a professional, neat, and clean appearance and be customer service oriented.

Required Education and Experience

  • HS diploma or equivalent and 4+ years of electronics repair experience OR associate degree and 1+ years of electronics experience.

  • Associate degree in relevant field desired.

  • Knowledge and experience with the repair of electronic systems.

  • Experience reading and understanding written instructions, wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints.

  • Knowledge and experience with data acquisition systems and tire testing equipment preferred.

  • Experience with ISO processes, procedures, and compliance requirements.

  • Demonstrated adherence to proper safety procedures.

Skills and Abilities

  • Work well on a team or independently with close attention to detail.

  • Exhibit strong organizational skills.

  • Communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing.

  • Exhibit solid customer service and interpersonal skills.

  • Basic office computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

  • Valid driver’s license.
