Vertex Aerospace Aircraft Mechanic - C-12 Program - San Angelo, TX in SAN ANGELO, Texas

Description

An Aircraft Mechanic III – Mechanic Performing repairs, modifications, and installations on T-1A and C-12 aircraft. Ability to troubleshoot, rig, and operational check/test engines: P&W PT6A-41, PT6A-42, PT6A-60 PT6A-65 turboprops, as well as JT15D-5 jet engines. Operates ground support equipment and flight line vehicles. Must be able to read, write, and interpret instructions, technical manuals, and/or directives necessary for the accomplishment of job assignments. Must be proficient at sheet metal repairs.

The Aircraft Mechanic III reports directly to the ACI Supervisors and/or Maintenance Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities

The primary functions of an "Aircraft Mechanic III" which can be performed without direct supervision include:

· Performs tasks as assigned /directed by Maintenance Supervisor, and/or Site Manager by instructions, applicable technical data, manuals, and directives.

· Evaluate aircraft discrepancies to identify proper repair methods. Identifies necessary parts, materials, and tooling requirements to complete the task.

· Utilize manufacturers’ maintenance manuals, service bulletins, Maintenance Engineering Directives, schematics, drawings, blueprints, charts, and other applicable publications to install, test, troubleshoot, and ensure aircraft modifications are accomplished promptly.

· Inspect for corrosion, treat and repair discrepancies. Perform touch-up painting and apply decals and labels. Prepare aircraft components for paint.

· Remove and replace engines, accomplish engine rigging and test.

· Comply with and follow established standards of workmanship, safety, quality, and production.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Amongst other basis, the performance KPI shall be linked to the Capabilities Program Manager’s achievement of obligations and company requirements. It shall cover amongst others the following areas: Successful programs/projects delivery in terms of scope, schedule, cost, quality, etc. Additional KPIs shall be developed by the Capabilities Program Manager, Senior Lead Engineer, and/or PMO management, subject to the requirements of the PMO and the business as a whole.

Work Experience

· Airframe and Power Plant (A&P) license required

· 5+ years C-12 (A200/B200/B300/1900) experience.

· 5+ years Pratt & Whitney turboprop engine experience (PT6A-41, PT6A-42, PT6A-60, PT6A-65)

· 5+ years Pratt & Whitney jet engine experience (JT15D-5)

· 5+ years’ experience in Airframe, mechanical, and electrical systems

Educational Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Position Competencies Required

  • Travel may be required up to 25% of the time.
