Job Description Summary

The EMEA MCU EHS Manager position reports hierarchically to the EMEA EHS Regional Manager. The incumbent will be responsible to ensure the safe operations during Major Component Upgrade (MCU) across ONW EMEA Region. In this role you will work closely with the MCU team and when needed with the customers to provide technical EHS support and oversight to ensure successful implementation and execution of all EHS expectations from GE & ONW. They will also provide input and support the wider ONW COE EHS team as we work to build one successful EHS team.

This role requires deep knowledge and experience of regulations applicable from project and service operations.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight and governance to ensure EHS compliance with applicable management systems, programs legislation and standards for MCU operations,

  • Serves as a Regional EHS point of Contact for the MCU ops team.

  • Keep focus on Strategic and Business Vision while maintaining connection to the field,

  • Able to proactively partner and develop positive working relationships with customers and contractors as well as internal cross-functional personnel,

  • Support and mentor MCU ops team in incident investigation, use root cause analysis methods, ensuring identify correct incident root causes as well as addressing correction actions,

  • Provide oversight and governance to ensure EHS compliance with applicable management systems, program, legislation and standards for projects within their portfolio,

  • Ensure periodical review of the region events take place, recognizing trends and patterns, taking and advising actions to avert potential risks before they create an incident,

  • Unsure accurate EHS metric reports per established schedules,

  • Manages and coordinates a broad spectrum of activities simultaneously,

  • Conduct EHS business audit to unsure EHS compliance during MCU Operations,

  • Supports all other demands as assigned (Governance audit across ONW business, any EHS support coming from the EHS CoE Team…)

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Occupational Health and Safety or technical equivalent from an accredited college or university, or equivalent qualification

  • Relevant EHS experience in a professional EHS role overseeing the execution of EHS in projects or services environment.

  • Significant experience and demonstrated achievements with safety programs, industry standards, and regulatory requirements

  • Certified Environmental or Health and Safety professional

  • Able to coach and support key influencers to drive EHS compliance and the reduction of risk through team engagement and help develop an organizational culture that prioritizes EHS.

  • Knowledge of EHS management systems

  • Strong knowledge in a project and or Service environment,

  • Wind industry or GE experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to organize, motivate and drive change and interact cross-functionally

  • Ability to influence and motivate diverse teams to achieve a unified goal

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Good condition and fitness to climb a wind turbine

  • Have domain expertise in two or more of the following HRO’s : Electrical Safety, LOTO requirements, crane safety, construction safety, fall prevention, confined space

  • High energy, self-starter

Eligibility Requirements

  • Travel requirements: 50% of the time

  • Language: Fluent English skills and any local EMEA languages (written and spoken)

  • Currently residing within EMEA region

This position will be filled in Germany or Spain.
