SummaryWork includes assignment planning, layout, set up, operating and making tool adjustments for various types of manual, or numerically controlled and computerized machine shop equipment for recovery or repair of material. Works from blueprints, process sheets and sketches to perform production tasks, which may include the cutting and shaping of metal to precision dimensions, quality inspection, and data recording. May communicate directly with engineers to understand the purpose of a part assembly. Checks and inspects machining operations against specified tolerances. May identify and repair minor machine malfunctions. Job Description SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING AND CERTIFICATIONS Required Certifications and Training * Obtains and completes LMS training plan specific to assigned responsibility. Experience Level with Business Tools * Proficient in utilizing business tools such as: E-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. * Experience with SAP or equivalent ERP product and productivity software desired.
LEVEL DESCRIPTION Skill * Has substantial understanding of the job and applies knowledge and skills to complete a wide range of tasks. * Manual lathe machining experience is required * Experience with grinding desired Job Complexity * Works on assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations. Supervision * Normally receives little instruction on day to- day work, general instructions on newly introduced assignments Typical Education and Experience * High SchoolDegree or equivalent * 3 - 5 years of related experience
ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Environment and Physical Demands * Eyesight must be good enough to inspect quality of material Employee must be able to meet the following requirements without an accommodation. * Heavy work that will frequently require employee to lift/move up to 50 lbs. and occasionally lift more than 75 lbs. to greater than 80 lbs. * Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or moving heavy equipment and/or supplies frequently. * Reaching above the shoulder occasionally. * Above-average agility and dexterity with the ability to hold, grasp and manipulate small parts and use hand and power tools occasionally. * Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and handle physical exertion, such as long periods of standing, walking, bending, crouching, stretching, reaching, repetitive motion, or similar activities. * Work environments includes: exposure to chemicals, proximity to moving mechanical parts, repetitive hand motion, and occasional cold and hot environment. * Travel to other site. Valid driver's license.
