The Transfer Evaluation Specialist analyzes transcripts, coursework, and degrees for determining program eligibility and admissions for prospective and current students. The Transfer Evaluation Specialist partners with staff and faculty across the university to ensure accurate and consistent decisions on course equivalencies and processes. This role enters and maintains academic records, documentation, and records of interactions with students in WGU's student information systems. Responds to applicants, students, and faculty questions about transcript evaluation policy, procedures, requirements, and regulations.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: * Analyse, evaluate, and process transfer credit for prospective and current students according to program requirements and standards. * Complete the intake process and create student records with transcript evaluation files and documents. * Ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations, and program policies and procedures by auditing, managing, and maintaining academic student records. * Respond to staff, faculty and student questions about the transcript evaluation process and the status of their review. * Review records and documentation for completion and accuracy. Research, obtain, and updated records to ensure complete information. * Collaborate with staff and faculty on complex situations to determine transfer credit eligibility. * Compile transfer evaluation information, prepare reports, and files related to evaluations activities and functions. * Interpret transfer policy and communicate with other transfer evaluators across university locations * May assist with training new transcript evaluation employees. * Identify and recommend ways to improve student success and evaluation processes.

Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities: * Knowledge of transcript evaluation policy and procedure regarding admission standards and program requirements. * Demonstrate strong communication skills both verbal and written. * Ability to think critically and assess information. * Ability to research and analyze information, policies, and procedures and reach proper conclusions. * Understand how to apply FERPA regulations to business processes. * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines and work expectations. * Ability to collaborate with WGU faculty and staff to supply solutions to transcript evaluation problems and ensure students' academic success. * Ability to evaluate and interpret documentation and requests related to WGU, U.S. Department of Education, and other policies to determine applicability to the student record. * Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion in matters related to sensitive or confidential student records. *...
