Position Summary

BioMérieux, a global leader in medical diagnostics, is seeking a seasoned Sr. Manager to lead our dynamic Trade Shows & Events team. You will play a pivotal role in crafting exceptional brand experiences that drive awareness, engagement, and lead generation across all our event activities.

This position requires leadership, coaching, and management of a diverse team of professionals. This position will have direct influence over the team members who report directly to the position and influence the team members in the broader Marketing Communications department. This position will require a demonstrated understanding of fundamental concepts and execution of internal and external customer events to ensure all teams are in sync regarding their roles and expectations as well as an undeniable support to all teams in creating, developing, and delivering impactful customer experiences.

About You

•A passionate and results-oriented leader with a minimum of 7 years of experience successfully managing trade shows, conferences, and large internal events (e.g., national sales meetings) for a medical device or related B2B company.

•Proven ability to deliver white-glove service, ensuring a seamless and unforgettable experience for all attendees, internal and external.

•An expert in the trade show and event landscape, with a keen understanding of how these activities integrate with the broader marketing and sales strategy.

•A strategic thinker who can conceptualize, plan, and execute trade shows as key touchpoints within the customer's multi-channel journey with BioMérieux.

•Demonstrated experience managing budgets, negotiating with vendors, and overseeing logistics with meticulous attention to detail.

•A strong communicator with the ability to motivate, inspire, and lead a team of event professionals. At least 2 years of successful people leadership experience is required.

•Proficiency in project management methodologies and marketing automation tools is a plus.

Primary Duties

•Help develop and implement a comprehensive trade show and event strategy aligned with the marketing integrated campaign strategies and corporate objectives.

•Oversee and optimize annual tradeshow budget through vendor management and negotiations.

•Optimize event spend and provide guidance on best practices on efficient procurement and payment processes.

•Directly support the logistical management of many marketing and other internal stakeholder events.

•Provide white glove support for customer and VIP events.

•Ensure all events and event resources are tracked using internal project management processes.

•Oversee trade show participation, from selecting shows and booth design to lead generation and post-show follow-up.

•Support the management internal events, including national sales meetings and user group conferences. Build and foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including marketing, sales, product development, and vendors.

•Identify and implement best practices for data collection and reporting including but not limited to lead generation, qualification, and nurturing at events.

•Lead a team of event professionals, providing coaching, mentorship, and performance management.

•Measure and analyze event ROI to ensure continuous improvement and strategic optimization.

Training and Education

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field preferred.

Experience

•7+ years’ experience in trade show and internal events

•3+ years’ experience leading and mentoring a team of 3 or more digital marketing professionals to achieve integrated marketing strategies.

•Proven track record of leading and executing successful customer and internal events to achieve business objectives and drive conversions.

•Deep understanding of customer journey mapping and experience optimization in alignment with events as a touchpoint in the journey.

•Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills across the organization.

•Experience communicating with and presenting to C-suite leadership.

•Data-driven approach with the ability to translate insights into actionable strategies.

•Experience in the regulated med-tech industry.

•A strong understanding of lead management tools and strategies.

•A strong knowledge of the utilization of data from trade shows and customer events to drive measurable ROI and impact.
