The Parker Engineered Polymer Systems Division is seeking an articulate, personable, enthusiastic, and organized engineer to become an applications expert for our hydraulic and rotary seals. The engineer will be responsible for providing sealing for customers in Aerospace and other industrial markets.

Our Applications Engineers strive to become experts in technical knowledge in target markets, including application parameters, specifications, industry regulations, and emerging technologies. Work will include project management, product recommendations, assisting with new product development and customer communications. This position works closely with Marketing, Product Engineering, Field Sales, and customers.

Essential Responsibilities:

· Provide technical expertise and assistance to win new business opportunities.

· Develop new technologies in key product line technologies. Participate in trade associations and present papers at technical conferences. Develop industry network.

· Assist in the development of new and/or revised products according to customer requirements.

· Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of competitive products and their activity in the marketplace.

· Provide project management leadership for key growth programs

· Assist in the development of marketing collateral (blogs, success stories, training presentations graphics, videos, and test reports)

· Take ownership of product/technical training material for Parker products (on-site and through webinars)

· Rapid Response to customer inquiries

· Generate part drawings

· Provide support online technical support

· Answer daily incoming requests for application reviews in a timely manner

· Support Market Managers in research market research initiatives

· Root cause and failure analysis

Qualifications

· BS in Engineering (Mechanical preferred)

· 5-7 years technical sales, manufacturing, or engineering experience

· Excellent mechanical comprehension with the ability to understand, describe or discuss problems of a technical nature.

· Technical experience in Powertrain and Fluid Power applications (Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Electro-Mechanical Systems) is a plus

· Demonstrated ability to successfully complete projects and work in a team environment

· Excellent oral, written and presentation skills

· Enjoy working in fast paced environment, ability to work several projects in multiple stages of completion

Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

· Experience creating 2D drawings and 3D models, Inventor a plus

This position can be located in either Salt Lake City, UT or Elgin, IL.
