Planet Technologies Senior .NET Cloud Solution Developer in Salt Lake City, Utah

Planet Technologies, the Nation’s leading Microsoft services provider to the public sector, is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our growing team as a Senior .NET Cloud Solution Developer. In this role, you will be supporting impactful projects that benefit our country.

The Senior Cloud Developer will actively participate, and lead projects centered around the adoption of Cloud PaaS features, including the planning and migration of existing applications to Azure and AWS. This position requires participation in presales activities, creating technical documentation, collaborating with project managers, and working as a developer on 2-3 projects simultaneously. The majority of the work will be conducted remotely from your home office, with occasional travel upon client request.

Responsibilities

  • Be a primary technical resource working on projects for customers adopting Microsoft Azure and AWS

  • Communicate technical prerequisites and deploy/migrate/refactor applications for the Cloud

  • Troubleshoot and communicate issues impacting the success of assigned projects

  • Implement applications in the cloud, provide documentation, and training for the solutions

  • Continuously learn new Microsoft technologies in Azure, and other non-Microsoft cloud technologies (where applicable) and sharing this knowledge with the rest of the team

  • Be a lead Developer for a team of resources who work together to provide a complete solution

  • Comfortable contributing to development estimates and project risk assessment

  • Ability to map code-based solutions to requirements

Skills Required

  • Candidates must possess excellent communication skills and be able to correspond efficiently and effectively. This includes both verbal and written communications. Particular emphasis is put upon the ability to produce well written technical documentation.

  • Strong technical writing and developer skills

  • Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CI/CD) practices

  • Unit Testing - ability to write unit tests to ensure use best practices and can run independently; implement test fixtures and setup/teardown procedures; develop test cases to include edge cases, error handling, and normal operation; ensure unit tests provide meaningful coverage of codebase

  • Define and manage tasks/client deliverables for themselves and supporting developers

  • Experience working Microsoft Azure and AWS

  • Working knowledge of either Agile, Scrum, Kanban or Waterfall methodologies

  • Experience of working in Agile, Lean or Continuous Delivery teams

  • Good understanding of third-party control libraries

  • Azure DevOps, Git, GitHub, PowerShell, Node.js, MySQL, MSSQL, Web API and Modern Application Security preferred

  • Experience with the Microsoft Data Platform stack preferred

Essentials

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree Preferred

  • Experience: 3+ years of experience supporting Microsoft Cloud Products and Services required. 5+ years of experience full stack development including designing, developing, debugging, troubleshooting and testing web applications is preferred.

  • Certifications: one current technical certification related to Microsoft Cloud Technologies (e.g. AZ 300, AZ 301, 303, or 304) preferred AND two current technical certifications related to Microsoft technologies (e.g. MCSD, MCP, etc.) preferred.
