Responsibilities
This role can be based in anyone of our USA Guidehouse Offices.
Guidehouse Insights, the dedicated market research arm of Guidehouse, seeks a Research Analyst to join its Technology Insights team who has knowledge and experience in the areas of lighting, lighting controls, connected and smart lighting solutions or building automation (Adavnced Lighting). The Adavnced Lighting Research Analyst should have experience in the Market Research community. The ideal candidate has mastered a variety of ongoing tasks, including production of syndicated research reports based on an editorial roadmap, collecting and analyzing market data, and involved or leading custom research projects. This new Guidehouse Insights Research Analyst will also support existing clients and seek to acquire or assist in acquiring new ones as part of team-wide business development efforts.
The Research Analyst on our Advanced Lighting Technology Insights team will be responsible for the following specific duties:
Assisting a portfolio of syndicated and custom research and clients
Collaborating on the outlining of a research report roadmap, authoring or co-authoring research reports, and multi-client subscription products
Quality assurance on quantitative market models and forecasts
Managing custom research projects that may include both secondary and primary market research
Assist with the maintenance and growth of client relationships by recognizing potential client needs and working with Senior Research Analysts and business development staff
Assist in the writing and price proposal responses, help identify potential internal resource needs to meet custom research project requirements
May participate in publicity, including writing short blogs, interacting with the press, and presenting at conferences
Adavanced Lighting Research Analysts should have strong knowledge and proven expertise in the digital transformation taking place across the business landscape, including the following technologies and their applications:
Lighting market
Connected and smart lighting
Building automation and efficiency
Industrial transformation
Qualifications
A minimum of bachelor’s degree in journalism, business, economics, engineering or technology related
At least 3-5 years of relevant industry experience including relationships with key industry players focused on any combination below:
Lighting market
Connected and smart lighting
Building automation and efficiency
Industrial transformation
Exceptional writing skills
Strong secondary research information discovery and aggregation skills related to Lighting market, Connected and smart lighting, Building automation and efficiency, and Industrial transformation
Solid quantitative analysis, ability to create market models and forecasts using assumptions gleaned from primary research
Excellent presentation skills
Technology market research or industry analysis experience
Independent, self-starter who thrives in a rapid, dynamic work environment
Exceptional organizational skills and time management
Excels at distilling data and market trends into actionable insights
Preferred Qualifications
In addition to previously listed:
Graduate degree in journalism, business, economics, engineering or a direct technology related disciple
2-5 additional years of relevant industry & analysis experience in any of the following: Lighting Market, Connected and Smart Lighting, Building Automation and Efficiency or Industrial Transformation
Proven track record of client management and account growth relative to advanced lighting or lighting market(s)
Experience in primary research, including phone interviews with executive-level market actors.
Survey execution and analysis experience
Articulate in communicating the results of analyses for diverse audiences including executives, strategic marketing and product managers, and sales teams
