University of Utah PS Physician Assistant in SALT LAKE CITY, Utah

This is a full time inpatient based position that is responsible for duties at both the University of Utah and Huntsman Cancer Hospital under the Division of Urology. The primary responsibilities include care of the inpatient population in the form of post-operative patient discharge orders, organizing patient education and coordination of care with outpatient teams including follow up appointments. The candidate will be responsible for inpatient consultations for various urological conditions in coordination with the urology residents and staff. Part of these consultations may include minor procedures depending upon urologic work experience or developed skills.Other responsibilities would include hospital admissions, including orders and coordinating care with other specialties and nursing staff. The candidate would be expected to become an expert in the field of urology with a good understanding of the various urologic diseases and management. As the candidate progresses, opportunity to progress will be granted as well. This may include potential OR first assisting at the University of Utah with the robotics program within urology.The candidate needs to have strong organizational skills, an ability to work independently within a system and be able to adapt to changing time schedules. Continued learning and growth is highly valued.
