PARALEGAL POSITION SUMMARY Okland Construction is seeking a Paralegal to play a pivotal role in our legal team, focusing on contract management and litigation support. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our legal operations and make a meaningful impact in the construction industry.

ABOUT US Founded in 1918, Okland Construction operates as a regional general contracting and construction management company with nearly 1,000 employees and growing. It supervises the architectural, engineering, bidding, contracting, building, and inspection from the beginning to the end of the project and specializes in concrete self-preform on large commercial scale.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES *  Responsible for shepherding trade partners (subcontractors) through Okland's Master Subcontract Agreement (MSA) process, including negotiating and finalizing terms with support from Okland's inhouse attorneys. *  Ensure that any insurance requirements to which a trade partner agrees are met, e.g., proof of insurance documents are obtained and reviewed, certificates of insurance are obtained, etc. *  Participate in the drafting process of various other agreements, including prime agreements with project owners, vendors, suppliers, and other third parties. *  With support and involvement from Okland's legal department, provide support to project teams faced with various contractual issues, e.g., defaulting trade partners, contract education, etc. *  Provide litigation support to Okland's inhouse attorneys, e.g., collecting and reviewing documents in response to third-party subpoenas, document requests, etc.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and SKILLSET REQUIREMENTS * High School diploma or equivalent *  A minimum experience of four years in a paralegal/legal assistant role, preferably in the corporate/finance/transactional areas *  Experience with reviewing financial statements and understanding how to assess the financial strength of a company based on those statements *  Investigative mind and strong research skills *  Excellent written and oral communication and time management skills *  Solid computer skills, including a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
