Ken Garff Automotive Group Network Engineer in Salt Lake City, Utah

POSITION SUMMARY:

Provide user support in the Information Technology Department.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ability to troubleshoot and design /understand wireless and wired networks.

  • Provide user and site support on networking issues.

  • Ability to terminate cable ends.

  • Ability to understand and accurately estimate network cabling pathways and distances.

  • Advanced understanding of OSI network model.

  • Advanced understanding of 802.11 wireless networks and their design.

  • Advanced understanding of OSPF

  • Familiarity with Fortinet Products and controls.

  • Familiarity with Aruba switches, Access points and control software a plus

  • Detailed understanding of IP network routing and switching.

    QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Applicants must be 18 years or older and be authorized to work in the U.S., have a valid driver license and professional appearance.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: A BA/BS degree and/or CCNA/Net+ Certification and six years experience in IT service and technology.

COMPUTER SKILLS: Inventory Control Software, Internet, Microsoft Office Products

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is regularly required to lift up to 50 pounds and will occasionally lift up to 100 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Office environment with dealership visits. Might require travel up to 30%. Rotating weekend and off hours on-call duties with additional compensation.
