VITAL STAFFING Mechanic in SALT LAKE CITY, Utah

Join our team!  We are looking for someone that has experience with maintenance on diesel engines and heavy equipment, but also someone who wants to expand their knowledge and learn new machinery.

Basic Responsibilities:

Inspect vehicles or equipment to identify problems

Perform breakdown repairs and preventative maintenance to improve reliability of equipment

Troubleshoot and repair other types of various production equipment

Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards

Must be willing to perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

Basic Requirements:

Owns and maintains the basic tools to complete repairs

5+ years of experience maintaining and repairing heavy duty equipment and/or diesel trucks

Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical repairs

Electrical and mechanical aptitude

ASE Certification preferred

Engine experience on Cummins, Caterpillar, and Detroit Diesel preferred

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

Physical Requirements:

Ability to sit, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach and work on your feet for extended periods of time

The employee occasionally is required to lift up to 50 pounds

Be able to use a variety of tools
