Our client, a highly regarded and growing law firm in Salt Lake City, is seeking a Litigation Paralegal in their Bankruptcy/Creditor Rights division. Ideal candidates will possess 5+ years of litigation experience as a Paralegal and have experience in bankruptcy and/or creditor rights. This role will support a highly successful team and play a pivotal role in moving cases forward and providing support to the Attorneys. What will the Paralegal be doing?

  • Assisting Attorneys with a variety of tasks related to litigation, bankruptcy, creditor rights and foreclosures

  • Preparing and editing pleadings and motions for federal, state, and bankruptcy courts

  • Overseeing the discovery process

  • Indexing and tracking document discovery

  • Summarizing, analyzing, and editing legal documents

  • Performing state and federal court searches

  • Liaising with internal and external partners

  • Overseeing national business entity research for states of domestication and principal information

  • UCC searches and filings

  • Preparing and filing proofs of claim in bankruptcy cases

  • Preparing personal property and real foreclosure notices

  • Preparing and indexing materials for depositions, trial, arbitration, and mediation

  • Summarizing depositions and transcripts

  • Preparing subpoenas

  • Managing billable hours

  • Assisting Attorneys with other duties as assigned

What is required?

  • 5+ years of experience as a Paralegal

  • 5+ years of litigation experience

  • Bankruptcy and/or creditor rights experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience highly desired

  • Paralegal Certification a plus

  • Familiarity with real and personal property foreclosures

  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

  • Proficiency with state, federal, and bankruptcy court filing

  • Highly professional written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • High degree of organization

  • Strong aptitude for learning

  • Ability to work independently and with a team

  • Ability to manage confidential information

  • Ability to work overtime as needed
