Job Description:

The Systems Engineer will act as the Project Engineer for the Army ACC ($887M) ID/IQ Program. The system engineer will be the primary technical point of contact for the customer (INSCOM, CECOM, PEO IEW&S) and will lead regular status meeting with the customer as well as provide monthly status reports. The System Engineer will provide program oversight for all technical issues and will work closely with Program Management in administrative functions including engineering budgets, staffing, schedules, and technical risks/opportunities management. This System Engineer will provide technical oversight for the Ground, Aerial, and SATCOM Data Links related work including proposals, development, analysis, system integration & test, product improvement, sustainment, field support, and repairs. The System Engineer must be well versed in all technical aspects of the program.

Essential Functions:

  • Provides technical oversight of program engineering team and primary technical point of contract for customer

  • Ensures technical performance, quality, and adherence to established policies and processes

  • Develops and presents project/program reviews for both internal and external customer audiences

  • Leads or assists in project/program schedule and budget planning, subcontract control, risk management

  • Leads or assists in management over systems engineering team and other teams of functional design engineers

  • Ensures technical performance, quality, and adherence to schedule

  • Follows processes in conformance with established policies and objectives

  • Coordinates the efforts of technical support personnel

    Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior project systems engineering experience.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • US DoD Security Clearance: TS//SCI (preferred)

  • Minimum of 7 years' experience with engineering design concepts and engineering practices and procedures required to develop, test and deploy systems.

  • Experience in product development a plus (preferably in military application environment).

  • Presentation and communication skills (verbal/written/visual)

  • Problem solving skills and the ability to meet critical schedule milestones

  • Understanding in coordination of project(s) and efforts of technical support personnel

  • Ability to productively contribute work, ideas and collaboration as part of a team

  • Ability, willingness to travel when required to support customer installation, demonstrations and general field support

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio)

  • Link Budet analysis (Link Budget Software)

  • Earned Value Management System (EVMS)

  • Interconnect Design: Mentor Graphics Capital Logic and/or Visio

  • Requirement Management: IBM Rational DOORS
