University of Utah Lab Specialist - Pathology in SALT LAKE CITY, Utah

JOB SUMMARYThe Matt Bettini Lab in the Department of Pathology has an immediate opening for a Lab Specialist who shares our vision for excellence in immunology research. The position will be based at the University of Utah School of Medicine, ranked among the top 30 public research universities in the nation, located in the foothills overlooking Salt Lake City. The focus of the available project within the broader research program is to study the role of ITAM number and sequence in Chimeric Antigen Receptor (CAR) T cell function. The Lab Specialist will have an opportunity to train in cutting edge technologies and the use of humanized mouse models.The Lab Specialist will contribute to projects understanding the transcriptional regulation and CAR signaling signatures of human CAR T cells in various tumor antigen models. A preferred applicant will be familiar with one or more of the following techniques: NRG/NSG mouse models and human CAR T cell generation, flow cytometry, western and IP western blots, use of next-generation single cell RNA sequencing, omics analysis including phosphoproteomics and metabolomics.A minor component of this position will include maintenance, breeding, and genotyping a number of genetically modified mouse strains. The ideal applicant should be self-motivated and have good record keeping and time management skills. Mouse husbandry includes maintenance, breeding, genotyping of mouse colony.Excellent training opportunity for students interested in pursuing a career in science, including graduate and medical school.
