State of Utah - Jobs Judicial Investigator in SALT LAKE CITY, Utah

The Judicial Conduct Commission is seeking a part-time Judicial Investigator to join their team. 

This is a part-time position,working approximately 29 hours per week. 

Hours may increase (or decrease) depending on workload demands.

Principal Duties Under the direction of the Director of the Judicial Conduct Commission,the  Judicial Investigator,you will: 

  • Conducts investigations into allegations of a variety of unethical or illegal behavior.
  • Prepares cases by conducting legal research and gathering evidence.
  • Communicates with complainants and judges.
  • Prosecutes formal charges before the Judicial Conduct Commission.
  • Represents the Judicial Conduct Commission before the Utah Supreme Court.
  • Appears before legislative committees,media outlets,and the public. and performs other duties as assigned.

Best Qualified Candidate The best candidate for this position will have:

  • Generally the best qualified individuals for this job will have obtained a Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited university.
  • Ideally,the best qualified candidate will have membership in good standing with a state bar.
  • Will have obtained 5 or more years of trial experience 
  • Have working knowledge of laws,legal codes,court procedures,precedents,government regulations,executive orders,agency rules,and the democratic political process. 
  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions,conclusions or approaches to problems. 
  • Knowledge of the judicial or court system.

About the Commission The Judicial Conduct Commission (JCC{target="_blank"}) is an 11-member independent fact-finding body that investigates allegations of judicial misconduct by state,county and municipal judges.
