BioFire Diagnostics, LLC. Inventory Control Analyst I in Salt Lake City, Utah

This position is for day shift with a start time of 5am.

Position Summary:

Responsible for daily cycle counting and audit activities in multiple warehouses. Activities include inventory counting, count auditing, variance identification, reconciliation, root cause analysis, and adjustment data entry into ERP system.

Position will assist inventory control management to develop, implement, and maintain a robust cycle count program to ensure accuracy and integrity of inventory record during internal and external observation.

Position will work closely with other departments to coordinate daily cycle count activities.

Position will provide quick response to supply chain, quality, and production teams’ to resolve variances. Takes daily proactive measures to ensure a high degree of inventory accuracy. When necessary, will monitor internal MES and ERP queues, will identify and document queue errors, will analyze errors for root cause, and will resolve errors with appropriate action.

Position provides management an analysis of inventory data for use in decision making and efficiency improvement initiatives. Uses SSMS (SQL) daily to query and update local databases. Employs Excel tools using formulas, VLOOKUPs, Data Analysis, Pivot tables, and PowerPivot to collect, analyze, and organize data. Will collect, organize, and document process improvement data using cloud reporting and MS office software to include Word, Visio, PowerPoint, and Project.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform all work in compliance with company policy and within the guidelines of BioFire Diagnostics Quality System.

  • Understand enterprise systems used by BioFire Diagnostics.

  • Assist manager to validate and maintain cycle count schedule.

  • Perform cycle count activities to established work instruction.

  • Verify count accuracy and variance reconciliation to WID standards prior to posting adjustment to inventory.

  • Adhere to published authorization requirements for adjustments made to inventory.

  • Record and maintain accurate log of count events.

  • Provide timely feedback to department management regarding observed practices in other departments that are deemed to cause inaccuracies in the integrity of the inventory record (standard and non-standard transactions, shelf life expiration, material mishandling, improper consumption against a BOM, etc.).

  • Participate in quarterly physical count observation and material preparation activities associated with the observation.

  • Writes queries or reports, aggregates inventory data, and performs statistical analysis based on requests from manufacturing, materials management, quality, project teams, or senior leadership

  • Provide quick response to supply chain, quality, and production teams’ to resolve variances. Takes daily proactive measures to ensure a high degree of inventory accuracy.

  • Integrates data from multiple data sources or functional areas, ensures data accuracy and integrity, and updates data as needed

  • Serve as an expert in all cycle count related capacities, interprets data to identify business trends, conducts root cause analysis of business problems, and suggests areas for process improvement when necessary.

    Education, Skills, & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED with 1+ year of experience in warehouse, inventory control, analytics, customer service, or manufacturing OR Associate Degree or higher.

  • College courses in Business, Operations, Supply Chain, Inventory Control, Accounting, Business Information Systems, and Analytics preferred although degree is not required.

  • Must be able to read and comprehend documented inventory control procedures.

  • Must have SQL skills or an aptitude to learning SQL.

  • Must be skilled in MS Excel. Must be familiar with excel tasks such as the use of formulas, VLOOKUPs, Data Analysis, Pivot tables and Power Pivot.

  • Experience using MS office software to include Word, Visio, PowerPoint, and Project is preferred.

  • Experience using SAP, Sales Force, Tableau, and JIRA preferred. Knowledge of lean implementation, process improvement, and Six Sigma preferred, not required.

  • Knowledge of statistical programming languages in Python or R a plus.
