The Leonardo Event Operations Coordinator in Salt Lake City, Utah

EVENT OPERATIONS COORDINATOR

The Leonardo seeks an Events Operations Coordinator to join our team and mission to fuse science, technology, and art in experiences that inspire creativity and innovation in people of all ages and backgrounds.

OVERVIEW  

The ideal candidat e will have strong client-relation skills, team leadership abilities, and be a go-to problem-solver, who also is a team player, excellent project manager, and performs well under pressure in a highly dynamic event environment. They must have excellent communication and customer service skills as they serve as the point person on the day of events for clients (weddings, corporate events, and other private events). This position will ensure the clients have a top-notch experience with their event, ensuring the facility, set-up, food, and beverages all meet and exceed expectations. 

  • Pay Rate : $ 17 per hour

  • Schedule : Part-time (<30 hours per week) with various/flexible shifts Monday through Sunday, 8am-5pm, but must be available evenings, weekends, and holidays depending on events schedule

  • Reports to : Senior Events Manager

    WHAT YOU’LL DO DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Ensure all event details are met

  • Communicate professionally with clients, Leonardo staff, and vendors

  • Assist Events Department with logistical and operational needs

  • Additional responsibilities as needed

    WHAT IT TAKES TO SUCCEED:

  • Education : High School Diploma or GED

  • Experience : Demonstrated, results-oriented experience in strategizing, producing, managing, and executing professional events, small and large;  Proven track record providing customer service in the hospitality industry; Preferred: Experience with DABS and alcohol ordering/process 

  • Competencies :  Strong understanding of the events process and industry trends; Able to take direction and work collaboratively; Able to work in a fast-paced environment, adhere to deadlines, and demonstrate flexibility with shifting demands and priorities under stress; Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask and manage multiple projects at a time; Excellent communication skills (verbal and written); Skilled at professional communication and managing customer relations; Self-driven, proactive, and takes pride in work; Preferred: Proficient in Tripleseat system; Strong understanding of AV/media

  • Physical/Other Requirements : Able to regularly lift up to 25 pounds; Able to stand for extended periods of time during events
