Events / Banquet Server

The Leonardo seeks an Events / Banquet Server to join our team and mission to fuse science, technology, and art in experiences that inspire creativity and innovation in people of all ages and backgrounds.

 

OVERVIEW  

The ideal candidate will have a background in food service, have excellent customer service skills, thrive while working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment; enjoy maintaining a clean and organized work environment; and have  a passion for serving our community.

  • Pay Rate : $10 per hour plus tips

  • Schedule : Part-time, on-call with various hours including nights, weekends, and holidays depending on events schedule

  • Reports to : Senior Events Manager or Food & Beverage Manager, depending on event

    WHAT YOU’LL DO DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Setup & Preparation: Assist in setting up banquet rooms according to event specifications, including arranging tables, chairs, linens, and table settings

  • Customer Service: Greet guests professionally and courteously upon arrival; Address guest inquiries, requests, and concerns promptly and with a positive attitude

  • Food & Beverage Service: Serve food and beverages to guests in a timely and efficient manner, following established service standards

  • Clean-Up & Breakdown: Clear tables of dishes, glassware, and utensils as guests finish each course; Perform post-event cleanup, including the removal of linens and table settings

  • Compliance & Safety: Adhere to all safety and sanitation guidelines, including food handling procedures and alcohol service laws. Report any safety hazards or equipment issues to supervisors promptly

  • Teamwork: Collaborate effectively with other banquet servers and team members to ensure a cohesive and efficient service

  • Additional responsibilities as needed

     

    WHAT IT TAKES TO SUCCEED:

  • Education : High school diploma or GED required 

  • Experience : Previous experience as a server or in a banquet/event setting is preferred, but not required

  • Competencies : Knowledge of basic food and beverage service techniques and etiquette; Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; Able to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment; E njoy maintaining a clean and organized work environment; Have  a passion for serving our community

  • Physical/Other Requirements :  Physical stamina to stand, walk, and lift trays for extended periods.
