SummaryWe are looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to help develop high voltage/power electronics for X-ray imaging applications.  Specifically, we are creating a new X-ray source platform that requires a unique high voltage generator.  An experienced engineer with experience in the automation of equipment testing and performance checks is required. Any exposure to designing HV circuitry and interfacing with firmware and software for controlling embedded systems, communication, and controls would be an additional asset for this role.  You will be joining a diverse RandD group that is developing novel multi-beam x-ray sources.  This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing team in a new developing market at the ground floor. The group needs support in developing the necessary electronic subcomponents as well as setting up benchtop test setups to test out and prove functionality of these new X-ray sources.  If you are experienced working in a group of diverse technical backgrounds, work independently, handle success and failure with an indomitable spirit, and work through the rigors and uncertainty of RandD work - we would love to talk to you! Job Description Build a benchtop version of an X-ray generator and emitter controls. Contribute to a new ultra-fast (< microsecond) voltage (< 5kV) switching device, along with associated auxiliary equipment, cabling, power supplies, etc. Work also includes designing and testing high voltage (50kV to 225kV) components, defining test plans, analyzing/troubleshooting equipment, preparing documents in compliance with Varex's new product development process and assessing new suppliers of novel devices under development.

Successful candidates for this role will have experience with a majority if not all of the following: * SAP or equivalent ERP product and productivity software desired. * designing high voltage power supplies and associated components * Familiar with various communications protocols. Writing control logic. * Experience with high voltage devices in vacuum * Circuit board design and fabrication * Programming (LabView, Visual Basic, C, C++, Python, scripting, MATLAB) * Testing and troubleshooting electrical equipment including high voltage equipment * Experience designing for ESD and high voltage stability * Experience with closed loop automation of established testing protocols involving multiple devices * Board layout * Troubleshooting electronics equipment including high voltage devices * CE testing experience, UL testing experience, environmental chamber testing, life testing, or other testing experience. * Design of Experiments * Use of O-scope, multimeters, etc. * Product validation and verification * Creating wiring diagrams and schematics. * Building a test board / dip switch. * Work with interlocks and safety devices. * Working with teams and across company divisions. * Some interfacing with customers and groups internationally.

Typical Education and Experience - B.S. In Electrical Engineering - 5+ years of related experience - Or Masters Degree with 3 years of related experience.

Ability to Travel * Travel may be required. 2 to 3 times per year for duration of 2 to 10 days
