Huntsman Cancer Institute (HCI) at the University of Utah is looking for an experienced information security analyst to design and develop policies and procedures that protect our organization's computing infrastructure from all forms of security breaches. This individual will be responsible for anticipating and identifying security vulnerabilities and working with HCI and University departments to resolve them, ensuring that our network and data remain secure.This person will work primarily with the HCI Pedigree & Population Resource group who manages the Utah Population Database (UPDB) Shared Resource, which is one of the worlds richest sources of in-depth information that supports research on genetics, epidemiology, demography, and public health. They will also work with two closely coordinated entities at HCI to help ensure HCI enterprise security: the Computer and Technology Group (CATG) that manages network and server infrastructure; and, the Research Informatics Shared Resource (RISR) which provides comprehensive software solutions enabling HCI investigators to obtain data from local, statewide, and national sources.To be successful in this position, applicants should have expert analytical skills and in-depth knowledge of best practices to prevent a wide range of security threats.
