Job Profile Summary: Western Governors University's Conferences and Events Intern is instrumental in supporting the execution of strategies that create meaningful engagements with key audiences for university leaders. Working with a dedicated Conferences and Events team and others across the broader External Communications team, the position provides support with data management and analysis, logistics, promotions, programming, and internal communications related to WGU's conference and event efforts. Working in a fast-paced environment, the Intern's contributions will help advance relationships with key university partners, external vendors, venue contacts, and others, to ensure a seamless event experience for all who attend. The ability to organize, prioritize, communicate, and focus on details is critical to success in this position.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: * Assist in planning, organizing, and executing WGU's engagements at national higher education industry conferences and events. * Coordinate logistics for events including venue sourcing, catering, accommodation arrangements, and programming. * Collaborate with vendors, sponsors, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of events. * Assist in developing event timelines, budgets, and project plans. * Support the marketing and promotion of events through collaboration with colleagues on WGU's MarCom Team, including social media, email campaigns, and promotional materials. * Provide on-site support during events, including registration management, attendee assistance, and troubleshooting. * Conduct post-event evaluations and analysis to gather feedback and identify areas for improvement. * Assist in maintaining event databases, records, and files. * Conduct research on industry trends, best practices, and competitor events to enhance event planning strategies. * Perform other administrative tasks and duties as assigned by the events team.
