Assistant Attorney General - Water Resources  

The Office of the Attorney General,Natural Resources Division,has an immediate opening for an attorney to represent the Utah Division of Water Resources. The position will include assisting the Division in a wide variety of legal matters involving state water resources,water storage and conveyance facilities,water conservation programs,and Great Salt Lake water conservation.   The position requires membership in the Utah State Bar and qualification for admission to the U.S. District Court for the District of Utah. The applicant should have excellent written and oral advocacy skills,the ability to communicate ideas and information clearly and concisely,and the ability to work with others as part of a team. Preference may be given to applicants with five or more years of legal practice experience and/or to those with educational background or experience in Utah water law,interstate water administration,grant programs,large water development projects,Colorado River and Bear River compacts,litigation,contracts,and administrative law.  The position is located in Salt Lake City.
