State of Utah - Jobs Assessment To Achievement Specialist in SALT LAKE CITY, Utah

Be a hero to administrators and educators!  The Utah State Board of Education (USBE) is looking for an experienced leader and visionary to provide guidance on school improvement with an emphasis in collaboration,data usage,and evidence-based instructional practices. This person will provide weekly support and on-site school coaching for the Assessment to Achievement (A2A) initiative and use of data to improve instructional programs in Utah s public schools.  As an Assessment to Achievement Specialist,you will travel throughout Utah providing training for school and LEA personnel of all levels to improve education.  Your work will impact the lives of Utah students. Three Year Position * *Principal Duties The Assessment to Achievement Specialist will be responsible for supporting the development of the A2A program,facilitating professional learning sessions and providing onsite coaching with partner schools,as well as working with educators and vendors to improve systemic practices to inform educational programs and instructional practices.  It's critical the candidate has advanced knowledge and skills in using data to improve instructional practices in public schools,and in working with adult learners. That's not all,here's a few skills that will make you successful on the job:

  • demonstrated use of assessment data and reporting systems to improve education
  • highly effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • problem solving in a collaborative setting
  • effective writing skills and strong public speaking skills

This is a licensed professional-level job you will provide leadership and are considered an expert in school improvement to inform educational programs and instructional practices. Ideal Candidate

  • Has a minimum of a Bachelor s degree
  • Has a current Utah State Education License
  • Has previous successful leadership experience
  • Has at least 5 years of classroom teaching experience
  • Special consideration will be given to educators with a Master s degree or advanced work with facilitating educator understanding of school improvement and demonstrated knowledge of adult learning theory.
