We invite you to join our modern and forward-thinking IT group at the Data Coordinating Center ( DCC ), part of the Division of Pediatric Critical Care at the University of Utah School of Medicine. Be part of a robust IT team comprising systems administrators, business intelligence developers, software developers, data architects, IT project managers, IT product managers, and technical support analysts. Our stakeholders include faculty and staff dedicated to accelerating the translation of clinical research to the bedside. In this dynamic environment, we work hand-in-hand with our customers as business partners, making it our daily mission to facilitate clinical research by ensuring the technology, both traditional and emerging, matches the business needs.
The DCC’s IT group has an immediate need for an Administrative Assistant. This vital role will support our cross-functional team of IT professionals. The Administrative Assistant will work closely with both internal team members and external stakeholders, primarily focusing on providing effective and supportive service to the IT team.
This position is located in Salt Lake City, requiring the selected candidate to either reside in or be willing to move to the Salt Lake City area.

Responsibilities
Essential Functions
Provide administrative support to IT
Provide general office support, including greeting and directing visitors, handling incoming calls and processing mail
Schedule appointments, interviews, and other meetings
Purchase and maintain office and lab supplies
Plan and organize department meetings within the office and at off-site locations
Take notes for a variety of meetings, internal and external
Prepare travel arrangements, prepare and request travel reimbursements
Maintain budget reports, reconcile accounts and prepare expenditure statements
Assist in collecting, organizing and analyzing data
Provide onboarding and training assistance
Serve as a backup and collaborative partner to other administrative assistants in the DCC

Minimum Qualifications
Associate degree in business or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) and three years full-time secretarial experience required. Demonstrated human relations and effective written and verbal communication skills required. Knowledge of basic bookkeeping practices and direct supervisory experience preferred.
