Job Description/Tasks/Responsibilities * Performs general accounting activities, including the preparation, maintenance and reconciliation of ledger accounts and financial statements, such as balance sheets, profit-and-loss statements and capital expenditure schedules. Prepares, records, analyzes and reports accounting transactions and ensures the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy and compliance with accepted accounting policies and principles.  Provides financial support including forecasting, budgeting, and analyzing variations from budget. * Performs general ledger accounting functions. * Performs reconciliations and analysis for assigned balance sheet accounts. * Participates in month-end, quarter-end and year-end closings. * There is no supervision of other works at this level. * Responsible for moderately complex accounting activities. * Responsible for supporting the various audits as they relate to assigned general ledger accounts. * Performs other duties as assigned. Job Requirements/Skills * Critical thinking skills * Working knowledge of general ledger functions and US GAAP * Proficient using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel * Strong written and verbal communication skills * Strong attention to detail * Working understanding of technical accounting issues * Working knowledge of accounting systems Physical/Mental Requirements and Working Conditions * Ability to sit * Ability to effectively communicate; speaking, reading, understanding, writing and hearing clear English; pass audiogram in hearing conservation program as required by location * Basic math and computer skills * Ability to work inside an office * Ability to perform highly repetitive motions with fingers, hands, wrists, and shoulders * Ability to work alone, work with others, and interact with the public * Ability to perform under deadline pressure * Ability to understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines
