Aerotek Lead Maintenance Technician in Salisbury, North Carolina

Immediate Lead Maintenance Technician Position

-11:00PM-7:00AM (M-F)

Description:

•Responsible to keeping the machines running as efficiently as possible in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

•Help the maintenance manager identify both potential and existing problems that could affect the company; communicate with all work groups any problems, trends or improvement methods

•Exhibit knowledge of health and safety regulations, always assess safety conditions, anticipate actions and reactions, and act in safe manner, wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and perform good housekeeping practices at all Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the tools of the position, products, quality methods, and/or technology

•Perform tasks in an organized and efficient manner; handle multiple activities simultaneously

•Accomplish all routine shift assignments and assist with operational support when needed.

•Notify supervisor of defective equipment, tools, materials or other conditions hindering safety, quality or production

•Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the production communication board

•Utilize available technology and perform necessary applications

•Operate, understand, and troubleshoot ALL production related equipment in any current production process – including but not limited to extruders, grinders, laser printers, ink jet printers, color feeders, slitters, punch presses, slit/heat/form/nail tables, MRF, etc.

•Participate in group meetings to exchange any job-related information

•Perform corrective action for any major product line problem

•Other duties as assigned

The technician will be responsible for the entire shift which is why they need the multi-craft experience. Should be strong in either mechanical or electrical.

They need at least basic electrical experience. PLUS: reinstall a bearing, troubleshoot hydraulics, pneumatics, etc.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

-Strong mechanical experience with experience troubleshooting common mechanical breakdowns on hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, rollers, saws, etc.

-Electrical troubleshooting experience with 480v, single and 3 phase power, motor installation and rewiring, etc.

-Welding/fabrication experience is a plus - used to make machine guards, rebuild bearings, etc.

-Adherence to preventive maintenance schedules

-High school diploma or equivalent, Associates degree is a plus

-3+ years of previous industrial maintenance experience

-Proficiency in Microsoft Office

-Leadership, self-starter attitude; this person will ultimately work on 3rd shift as the only technician; must be able to prioritize and troubleshoot on their own
