Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a meticulous and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant in Salinas, California. This role involves ensuring compliance with regulations set by the Department of Transportation (DOT) in our organization. The Administrative Assistant will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of DOT compliance, developing and implementing policies and procedures, conducting regular audits and inspections, and serving as the primary point of contact for any DOT-related inquiries or inspections.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all aspects of DOT compliance within the organization, including driver qualifications, vehicle maintenance, safety regulations, and record-keeping

• Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with DOT regulations

• Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance

• Serve as the primary point of contact for any DOT-related inquiries or inspections

• Maintain accurate documentation and records to demonstrate compliance

• Provide training to employees to promote awareness and understanding of DOT requirements

• Liaise with regulatory agencies, management, and employees to address any compliance issues and facilitate corrective actions when necessary

• Use Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, and Excel Formulas to perform administrative tasks such as answering inbound calls, customer service, data entry, email correspondence, and scheduling appointments

• Monitor and take action on customer credit accounts for delinquent payments

• Process customer credit applications accurately and efficiently

• Maintain accurate customer credit records. Requirements • Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience as an Administrative Assistant or in a similar role

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)

• Strong customer service skills and experience in a customer-facing role

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

• Experience in answering inbound calls and managing both inbound and outbound calls

• Ability to schedule appointments and manage calendars effectively

• Proficiency in email correspondence and ability to respond promptly to internal and external communications

• Experience in data entry with attention to detail and accuracy

• Knowledge of Excel formulas and ability to use them effectively in data management

• Must be able to work in a team, as well as independently with minimal supervision

• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively

• Problem-solving skills and ability to take initiative in resolving issues

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
