Robert Half Accounts Payable Clerk in Salinas, California

Description

We are in the process of hiring a meticulous Accounts Payable Clerk to become part of our team in Salinas, California. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for managing our company's accounts payable tasks. Your key duties will include processing vendor invoices, maintaining vendor relationships, assisting in month-end closing, and providing accurate accounts payable information.

Responsibilities:

• Efficiently receive and process vendor invoices on a daily basis in our ERP system.

• Process payments in a timely manner, including ACH, Transfer, Auto Pays, and Checks.

• Ensure proper sales and use tax is recorded and paid as required.

• Maintain a healthy vendor relationship and ensure vendor integrity.

• Keep vendor information in the ERP system up to date, including reconciliation of the vendor statement to the subledger.

• Assist in the process of 1099.

• Aid in month-end closing, including accounts payable accruals and reconciliation to the general ledger.

• Participate in the completion of year-end processes, including periodic external audits.

• Provide accurate accounts payable information as requested in a timely manner.

• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation, both electronic and physical, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices.

• Check mail daily and distribute according to established procedure.

• Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs.

Requirements

• Demonstrable experience in accounts payable (AP)

• Ability to carry out account reconciliation to ensure accuracy of records

• Expertise in check runs to process payments and maintain cash flow

• Proficiency in coding invoices for proper categorization and recording

• Strong data entry skills for accurate and efficient input of financial information

• Experience in invoice processing to ensure timely payments

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting
