A Recreation Director is needed for an employer in North Sevier, UT

JOB DESRIPTION-

Plans, implements, and supervises a comprehensive recreation program for citizens of Aurora, Salina, and Redmond. Such programs include youth baseball, softball, soccer, football, volleyball. X-country, swimming, wrestling and basketball.

 

Evaluates and expands activities available to residents and may initiate new programs as needed.

 

Organizes and conducts registration sessions for recreation programs; will be responsible for coordinating with the Salina City Treasurer to make sure all fees are paid.

 

Can follow budget requirements and assist in preparing financial expenditures for future programs.

 

Schedules use of all facilities and if needed, prepares them for use. Sets up schedules for games and events. Secures referees and officials as needed. Coordinates all efforts, recruitment and training of volunteers and coaches. Is on call for all recreational functions and attends all functions possible.

 

Plans, coordinates and assists with tournaments and dividing participants into teams for youth programs.

 

Develops and enforces policies of public behavior in parks and recreation programs.

 

Conducts public relations, media coverage, and social media and, in general, promotes the goals of the assigned programs. Must have effective oral and written communication skills.

 

Assist North Sevier Community Center Building Director. All other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS-

1-    Two years experience in recreation program management is preferred.

2-   * *An essential knowledge of sports programs and the ability to communicate with the public and the media.

 

3-   * *Must be able to handle stressful situations calmly and professionally.

PHVSICAL/ENVIRONEMENT FACTORS-

* *

This position requires some lifting of heavy objects i.e. equipment, preforming outdoor recreation work, exposure to adverse weather conditions, and dealing with the public often in somewhat stressful situations.

 

WORK HOURS-

This position requires the applicant to have a flexible schedule, and may often include evenings and Saturdays to be worked. Must be available to answer the North Sevier Recreation phone until 10:00 pm.
