Salary Information

Truck Driver - CDL: Wage range is: \$18.17/hr to \$25.81/hr dependent upon qualifications and experience.

Truck Driver - Trainee: Wage range is \$17.40/hr to \$24.81/hr dependent upon qualifications and experience.

Career advancement opportunities to Equipment Operator I & II at 6 months of successful employment, completion of required

training, and verifiable experience.

Job Duties

Truck Driver -CDL - Operation of dump truck, semi-truck, low-boy trailers, tandem axle snowplows and spreaders, asphalt

patch truck, pick-up truck, backhoe, loader and other equipment for road and bridge maintenance and construction

activities. Responsible for preventive maintenance of assigned equipment. Perform general laborer duties related to

roadwork, bridge work, asphalt work and general yard labor as required, and all other work as assigned. Responsible for

keeping records of service requests and coordinating with Road Superintendent. Maintain other records as required.

Truck Driver - Trainee - Perform general duties related to roadwork such as flagging traffic, trimming trees, cutting brush,

mowing right-of-ways, replacing bridge planks, assisting in concrete work, duties related to asphalt work and preparation for

asphalt work. May be assigned to clean up yard and/or shop buildings. Operate mower tractors, front end loaders, skid

steers and power tools such as chain saws, weed whips and hand tools required for assigned tasks. Perform preventative

maintenance. Once CDL is obtained it will open opportunities for other duties/equipment.

Minimum Qualifications

CDL

1. Must have a High School diploma or the equivalent.

2. Must have a valid Class A Commercial Driver License with air brake, manual transmission, combination

vehicles and tanker endorsements. Must be insurable under Saline Countys fleet insurance policy.

3. Six (6) months experience operating dump trucks.

4. Ability to identify safety hazards.

5. Previous, verifiable work experience may be substituted at the discretion of the administrator.

6. Able to work independently.

Trainee

1. Must have a High School diploma or the equivalent.

2. Must have a valid Class C Driver License.

3. Must be insurable under Saline Countys fleet insurance policy.

4. Must be able to work independently.

5. Must be able to perform work most of the time in hot or cold conditions.

Physical Requirements

Determined Work Level: Level 4 Heavy Work **will accept applicants at 3.50 exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally,

and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly. Possess eye/hand/foot coordination

sufficient to drive vehicle. Ability to use one or both legs and/or feet to move controls on machinery or equipment. Must have fine and

gross manual dexterity to operate hand tools and equipment necessary to perform general labor duties. Ability to bend body downward

and forward by bending spine at the waist. Job performance and or safety of self and others demands being able to see clearly 20 feet or

more.
