POSITION OVERVIEW

The Receiving Clerk will function as a key leader in the receiving process. They will organize and direct auditors to meet receiving goals, priorities, and schedules for inbound shipments; verify systematic receipts of product equal physical quantities shipped; verify purchase and work orders against the system for accuracy and work with planners to correct inaccuracies; research and resolve discrepancies; update inventory levels in JDE; and function as an auditor or lift truck operator on dock as required.

MAJOR DUTIES

  • Receiving clerk will be responsible for verifying documents received with shipments (i.e. manifests, packing lists) agree with physical audit and write up performed by an auditor, this information will then be used to systematically receive product into JDE/DSI.

  • Receiving clerk must be detailed and organized to insure a high level of accuracy of systematic data entry of receipts. Must also possess a sense of urgency to execute urgent item and cross dock requests in a timely manner.

  • Receiving clerk must have the ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously across multiple platforms, such as, but not limited to: PC set up, receipt entry, receipt history, warehouse put-away suggestions, and warehouse movement history.

  • Receiving clerk will assist with the reconciling of purchase and work order receipt issues with accounting and planners.

  • Receiving clerk will train auditors to perform write ups and audits and to document discrepancies and non-conformances.

EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 2 years related experience in distribution environment.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Essential

  • Must be proficient in Excel, Word, & Outlook

  • Must be able to learn to operate all warehouse equipment and complete Hazmat Certification

  • Must have excellent problem-solving techniques- extensive ability to analyze and recommend corrective actions.

  • Ability to function in a team environment demonstrating a positive attitude, the willingness to educate team members.

  • Excellent communication skills needed to correspond with both internal and external customers.

  • Must be able to function in a team environment demonstrating a positive attitude and the willingness to help educate team members.

EDUCATION ‘

GED or High School diploma preferred
