Job Description Summary

The Electrical System Integration Leader is part of the onshore wind product design process and is a key person for successful, high quality NPI execution.

You will demonstrate technical accountability and cross-functional leadership for the electrical system of one of our globally used wind turbine platforms. You will lead product development projects, from business requirement definition and technical trade-offs to prototype installation and serial production.

The teams scope includes the overall electrical system of our wind turbine products and its components like Generators, Transformers, Power Conductors, Cable Harnesses, Converters, Electrical Switchgears & Control Cabinets etc.

The broad scope of the team and the global responsibilities of this position provide great opportunity to drive engineering excellence and quality, as well as to optimize the wind turbine electrical system with respect to performance, cost and reliability.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Lead and drive the execution of Engineering design work on onshore NPI programs. E.g. cost out, services programs, new products, etc.

  • Lead the execution of the design, analysis, and evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles, adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements.

  • Responsible for interfacing with cross functional teams inside and outside of engineering to execute NPI program deliverables within cost and schedule targets.

  • Plan & organize technical program reviews and participate as a presenter or reviewer.

  • Ensure the electrical system functionality and/or capability meets product requirements, through a clear breakdown of overall requirements to the electrical system and its components.

  • Support the platform team in driving decisions on utilizing existing components or identifying strategic uprates.

  • Provide timely communication on significant issues, necessary changes to the plan and achievements, as well as providing recommendations on next moves.

  • Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks, in consistency with engineering policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).

  • Ability and willingness to travel 10% of the time.

Desired Characteristics

  • Broad electrical engineering experience and/or in other, related fields.

  • Familiar with the characteristics, capabilities and limiting factors of the electrical system of a wind turbine or other electrical systems of similar complexity.

  • Ability to pull together teams across functions to drive consensus and decisions.

  • Program Management skills, experience and attitude.

  • Positive mindset with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work in a cross-functional, global environment.

The salary range for this position is $85,600 - $142,600 USD Annual. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a 10% variable incentive bonus.
