Roanoke College Assistant Director of Athletic Communications in Salem, Virginia

Assist in the positive promotion of Roanoke College Athletics. Direct sports information/promotion responsibility for multiple NCAA Division III teams and coordinate Maroon Club activities. This is a 12 month position that will begin on 7/1/2024. Key Responsibilities: • Assist the Director of Athletic Communications in the maintenance of the following: • Athletic website • Athletic social media plan • Statistical records • Serve as the technical director for select video streaming efforts • Attend all home athletic events for which we stream live • Coordinator Camera and play-by-play commentary • Troubleshoot video streaming operation • Performs additional duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics Communications Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities: • Bachelor’s degree required • Knowledge and/or experience in NCAA division III athletics, particularly in the area of sports information, web page management, and video production. • Proficient in desktop publishing and web content editing, including MS Office Applications, Stat Crew statistical software, and Adobe Premier software (InDesign and Photoshop) • Strong Communication skills, both verbal and written. • Ability to work with young adults while maintaining a high energy, professional attitude. • Well-developed interpersonal skills with an ability to get along well with diverse personalities while being tactful, mature, and flexible. • Must be able to work evening and weekend hours • Strong work ethic and ability to be a team player About Roanoke College Roanoke College is a place where every student who works hard has the opportunity to succeed.
