Roanoke College Adjunct Lecturer in French, Modern Languages Department in Salem, Virginia

The Modern Languages department at Roanoke College invites applications for adjunct faculty in French to begin in August 2024. Candidates must have a native or near-native fluency, be able to teach lower-division French courses face-to-face on the Roanoke College campus, and be available for meetings. Responsibilities: • Teach up to two introductory French courses. • Develop course syllabi, lesson plans, and instructional materials. • Assess student performance and provide timely feedback. • Foster an engaging and inclusive learning environment. Qualifications: • Master’s degree or Ph.D. in French or a related field; candidates with a Bachelor's degree and years of experience teaching lower-division French courses may be considered. • Proficiency in spoken and written French. • Experience teaching French. • Commitment to student success and innovative teaching methods.
